How to install Message Sniffer with Declude and SmarterMail

NOTE: In order to run Message Sniffer you must have purchased a license and authentication key from Arm Research Labs.

 

1) Connect to the server you are working with using a remote desktop program of your choice.

 

2) Navigate to https://armresearch.com and click the Downloads tab.

 

3) Click Download Windows Installer to download it.

 

4) Right click the SNF_CS_Installer file and click Run as administrator.

 

5) Put a check in the box for Other at the bottom of the list.

 

6) Change the location of the install to the Declude folder for SmarterMail in the C: drive.

 

7) Check the box for New Install.

 

8) Enter the license number and authentication code and proceed through the rest of the installer flow.

 

9) Once the install is completes open the declude folder and open the SNF folder.

 

10) Right click the snf_engine XML document and click Edit.

 

11) Find the following line: host='sync.messagesniffer.net' port='25' and change the port to 80.

 

12) Search the server for Services, locate SNFService in the list of services.

 

13) Right click SNFService and click Stop.

 

14) Go back to the SNF folder to locate and delete the newly created sniffer log.

 

15) Return to the Services window, right click SNFService and click Start.

 

16) This should generate another sniffer log in the SNF folder, if you right click the new log and click Edit a window should open with a successful message.
